Manufacturing Engineer Consultant

This will be a four month contract with the intent to convert to a permanent role. The rate for this position is between $35 and $60 per hour dependent on experience.

Due to significant growth, my client needs talented individuals to contribute to their manufacturing and engineering department.The Medical Device Manufacturing Engineer will play a vital role in bringing new products to market. The role will include part and process verification and validation, plastic part design including manufacturability, tooling/fixturing, electromechnical design including the analysis and manufacturability and the implementation of lean manufacturing processes.

The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:

* Bachelor's Degree in engineering
* 8-12 years of experience
* Experience in engineering, shop floor, manufacturing, product release/introduction
* Part and process verification and validation
* Direct experience/knowledge of plastic part design, manufacture and selection required
* Process capability analysis and management required
* Prior ERP/business systems knowledge, experience and acumen from a manufacturing perspective required
* Warehouse exposure/experience strongly preferred
* Tooling and fixturing experience strongly preferred (hands-on: designing, optimizing and maintaining.
* Electromechanical design, analysis and manufacturing capability required, experience strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated practical applications and working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and associated activities strongly preferred.
* Ability to apply Quality tools and techniques to solve problems and make continuous improvements (DFMA, PFMA, SPC, Gauge R&R) required
* Strong machine/machinery/automation design, operation, troubleshooting and optimization skills need
* Medical product or regulated environment experience strongly preferred
* CAD experience with ProE preferred
