Manufacturing Engineer

Contract Lean Engineer for a Tier I Automotive parts maker located just outside of Greenville, SC. Duration of contract is 6-12 months. The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading the plant efforts in creating a culture of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement with a focus on elimination of waste and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Moderation and leadership, organization and coordination of Kaizen workshops for local plant
- Creation/execution of takt-time analysis for line balancing
- Identify potential optimization and improvement of processes and equipment throughout the facility
- Prioritization of tasks, develop action plans, identify and assign responsibilities along with department managers
- Facilitate follow-up of action plans, supporting elimination of problems, and informing Team of 'Roadblocks.'
- Responsible for the training , supporting and Coaching of plant associates in the application of the following tools: Improvement Circles, Standardized Work, TPM, SMED, Logistic Pull Systems

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field with experience in Lean Manufacturing
- Minimum of five to seven years experience in heavy or automotive manufacturing environment
- Previous lean manufacturing and project management experience preferred including value stream analysis/design, 5S, Lean Reporting Metrics, and Lean Principles
