Manufacturing Buyer

Yoh has an excellent contract opportunity for a MANUFACTURING BUYER to join our client in Erie, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Buyer/Contract Administrator will serve as the key liaisons between the Supply Base and Production Team(s).
- He/she will manage purchased material in a manner to support Quality, On Time Delivery and all essential functions to support customer production needs for purchased material.
- He/she will manage a specified amount of purchased material that associate will "own" by fulfilling customer requirements as scheduled in a Master Scheduling System (MRP) through placement of direct Purchase Orders.
- Create, modify and maintain purchase orders as signaled by MRP.
- Secure on time delivery of all products and meet operational budgets.
- Execute Purchase Orders to meet defined Contractual Blends and Target Pricing as provided.
- Interface daily with direct internal customers (production floor) to ensure purchased materials is meeting Quality.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Background in manufacturing procurement.
- Sourcing/Fulfillment/Materials Experience.
- Knowledge of Purchasing Systems (CAS, Oracle, JDE, other MRP).
- Minimum of an Associate's degree.
- Five (5) years of experience in a sourcing/buyer's role.
- Knowledge of complex drawing structures, Bill of Materials.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and customers.
- Strong analytical and Computer skills (eg Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
