Maintenance Technician

General Maintenance Worker opening for a very long term assignment on a federal site near Dover, NJ. Working individually within an operations team this position will be responsible to work on project assignments throughout the site. Local candidates only (site is 35 miles west of NYC in NJ).

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and building requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency)
- Work involves the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
- Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
- Painting structures and equipment
- Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
- Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes

REQUIREMENTS

- Previous experience in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
- Must have experience performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
