Maintenance Surveyor

We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Area Surveyor to join our Property Services team on a twelve months fixed term basis. The focus of this role is to oversee the day to day delivery of all Property Service activities within an area, providing the entire maintenance service via our contractor, and offering support to the Operations Manager in the delivery of the local maintenance service and other property services. This will include identifying properties that require major repair, improvement or redevelopment to ensure that appropriate recommendations are made.

The post holder will also look after the management of issues and queries raised by residents and colleagues and ensure a timely resolution. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people including, internal clients, direct reports, contractors and residents are vital.

To succeed in this role experience in housing maintenance, contract management and dealing with substantial budgets is essential. Other skills required are strong influencing skills, the ability to organise workloads to make effective use of time and resources and experience of managing external contractors' performance to ensure that team targets are achieved.

Applicants should be educated to a minimum of A-Level or equivalent with strong IT literacy and Numeracy.

Due to the travelling requirements of this role a full driving licence is essential.
