Mainframe Storage Manager

Following a recent technical refresh my client has a requirement for a Storage Manager to work as part of a small team to provide support to internal IT users of Mainframe storage services.

The successful candidate will be;

- Fully skilled in all aspects of IBM zSeries Storage Management software and relevant hardware (see expected experience levels below)
- Able to both work on own initiative and also follow standard procedures
- Delivery focussed
- Structured in work practices
- Effective project management skills
- Experienced in deploying and managing SMS to optimise placement of data on the most appropriate storage device
- Experience in the following Storage Management tools in zSeries (IBM Mainframe) environments:

o Hardware:
IBM-compatible Enterprise Disk Storage (eg EMC, HDS, IBM)
Oracle Enterprise Tape (SL8500 and VSM)
o Software
z/OS and zVM
DFSMSdfp, DFSMShsm, DFSMSrmm, DFSMSdss and other tools
Replication tools (eg PPRC/MGM, SRDF, TrueCopy)
Backup tools (eg EMC TimeFinder, IBM Flashcopy, HDS ShadowImage)
ICF Catalogs, VSAM
TDMF
Fully conversant with IBM z/OS JCL, REXX, ISPF and similar utilities
