MAINFRAME SPECIALIST

One of my leading financial services clients in Amsterdam is urgently seeking a MAINFRAME SPECIALIST for a long-term contract paying excellent rates. This is an indefinite assignment. If you like it, you will never have to leave.

THE MAINFRAME SPECIALIST WILL IDEALLY HAVE AT LEAST 65% OF THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- z/OS
- IBM subsystems (eg DB2, CICS, IMS, TWS, MQ, System Automation, TDS)
- 3th party subsystems (eg Endevor, Control-D, View Direct, XFB)
- z/OS security (RACF)
- HDS Storage; backup/restore, Disaster Recovery
- DFSMS
- Parallel sysplex
- Installation and maintenance (SMP/E)
- z/OS System Support activities (performance, maintenance)
- Monitoring/Automation/scheduling/Administration (CMDB)
- ITIL
- REXX Scripting
- JCL

THE MAINFRAME SPECIALIST WILL PERFORM THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

- solve vulnerabilities and automate system management wherever possible.
- make sure everything we do is repeatable by making reliable scripts for all changes on the system.
- responsible for securing the system to the latest standards.
- Encryption, SSL and SSH have no secrets to you.
- You are able to tune the system to the required specs, and you are a great trouble-shooter.
- You test all changes thoroughly and you are responsible to automate these tests where possible.
- You are responsible to implement necessary changes on all DTAP LPAR's as non-disruptive as possible. Minimizing downtime is in your blood.
