Mainframe Engineer

OUR CLIENT REQUIRES A MAINFRAME ENGINEER BASED IN SOFIA, BULGARIA.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for Mainframe Senior Engineers in MVS, Storage, Interactives. Your aim would be to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction by implementing/supporting state-of-the-art solutions and minimizing unplanned downtime in the customer's production environment. Working remotely from Bulgaria you will be reaching customers from pole to pole. The role will also provide you with the opportunity to share your knowledge and develop the team capability. REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to share ideas and to communicate effectively in English

. Relevant experience working in a Mainframe environment

. Proven track record at a senior level within a Mainframe environment.

- Working knowledge of other areas within Mainframe technical support such as Storage Management, Automation and Hardware Support

The successful candidate should have several skills from those listed below:

* CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ

* Software installation and customisation

* Analytical and problem resolution skills

* z/OS (TSO, ISPF, JCL, Batch Scheduling, JES2 and JES3, SA, etc.)

* Storage Management ( DFSMS/dss, DFSMS/rmm, DFSMS/hsm, data replication, etc.)

* Parallel Sysplex and Coupling Facility support and maintenance

* SMP/E, JES2, UNIX System Services

* Programming languages: Assembler and REXX

* Mainframe networking skills (TCP/IP stack configuration, SNA, SMTP )

* Printing (VPS, CA Spool)

* Security (ACF2, RACF)

* Maintenance of ISV products from CA, ASG, SAS, BMC, COMPUWARE
