Our client is a high profile Government Agency with offices located throughout Australia. The department is looking for MAINFRAME DEVELOPERS to join their teams in MELBOURNE. The is an initial 12 month contract with a 2x12 month extension commencing immediately with a rewarding hourly rate on offer.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

- Contribute to projects or activities involving the development and/or maintenance of computer applications in accordance with department standards and guidelines.
- Provide advice and undertake more complex activities associated with developing and/or supporting computer applications in a Mainframe environment.
- Review Functional Design documentation and escalate potential issues or gaps and provide recommended solution options.
- Assist with investigation and analysis of complex problems, provide technical advice and create technical designs, processes and architecture.
- Build/Coordinate the development of internal and/or external products and/or delivery mechanisms to improve business outcomes, in collaboration with Government, other agencies and external stakeholders.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

- Cobol, DB2 and MQ Series, XPediter
- Micro focus Express (MFE), Team Foundation Server (TFS) and SCLM
- z/OS, JCL, ISPF, JSB and CICS
- DB2 tools/utilities and SAS
- TELON and/or AllFusion Gen
