Machinist

Job Description:
Machinists are required to work in the manufacturing industry and will be responsible for running a manual milling machine in a safe and effective manner.

Responsibilities:
Work safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
To machine items requested by Production/Planner using machines best suited to the task in accordance with the skills of the relevant machinist.
Interpret standards and isometric drawings to enable accurate replication to comply with drawing tolerances/parameters and quality requirements.
Planning the most efficient order of machine operations for each job.
Choosing the rights for the job.
Setting the cutting speeds and tolerance levels.
Carrying out the operations.
Working with QC to ensure work meets quality and technical standards.
Routine maintenance/housekeeping

Qualifications/Experience
The machine operator should be fully conversant when reading engineering drawings; pay attention to detail.
The candidate would preferably have experience working with FANUC and Deidenhain controls although not essential as training will be provided.
Your application should specify which controls and machines you have operated along with your level of expertise with each.
You should be prepared to provide evidence of any training on these control systems.
