Logistic Analyst

Background
Our central government client is looking for a Logistic Analyst to join their team in Somerset. The role will involve looking at the comparisons and differences, and provide evidence and recommendations on how to reduce costs down. Due to the nature of this post, preference will be given to candidates that hold valid SC Clearance.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Tasks:
- Analyse the industry proposal for integration, developing a detailed understanding of the fixed costs, spares re-provisioning costs, repair and overhaul costs, and industry uplifts.
- Compare the industry proposal with the Authority value for money benchmark, and provide a detailed assessment of the differences between the two figures.
- Negotiate with industry to establish a value for money price for the integration of in-scope with requirements.
- Work with the PT risk manager to understand the risks associated with the forecast requirement and solution. Assist in the recording of these risks, and develop 3 point estimate costs for the client retained risk under the integration scenarios.
- Assist with the development of the logistical elements of the business case for submission via the approving authorities.
- Develop a plan for delivery of any dependencies and Government Furnished Assets.
- Prepare for the transition from the traditional support arrangements to the availability service.

Skills/Experience Required

Required skills:
- Experience of implementing logistic support solutions, including availability services.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Able to work with a wide range of technical, financial, commercial and project management staffs to assimilate data.
- Understanding of JSP 507, 886 and 525.

Formal Qualifications Required
- A background in Logistics Management.
