Locum Consultant in Cardiology

The Trust consists of three hospital sites, employing over 3.500 staff serves a population of approximately 450,000.

The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community based services, including emergency department, acute medicine, and emergency surgery; elective surgery in many specialties.

As the Consultant Cardiologist you are not expected to participate in the medical on-call rota but will contribute to an annual individual and team job planning review. You will be required to share the in-patient responsibility with 2 other Cardiology Consultants and facilitate a 1 in 3 rota. The Department is fully committed to Audit and you will be encouraged to take active part in it. From time to time, there may be the requirement to provide clinical training to medical students and paramedics undertaking attachments to the Department.

In return you will be appointed as a full time Cardiology Consultant and will be expected to integrate within the team of existing Consultants in order to provide a complete and high quality, Cardiology service.

In order to be considered for this position is it essential for candidates to have wide experience in cardiac catheterisation, MRCP(UK) or equivalent, Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT.
