Litigation Solicitor

My Hertfordshire client is seeking a Solicitor/Legal Executive/Litigation Solicitor to provide high quality legal service to them with a mixed caseload of prosecution and civil litigation work and a mix of other matters.

Tasks:
* To effectively carry and have sole conduct for a mixed case load relating to prosecution and civil litigation work and a mix of other matters which may comprise any of the following: town and country planning, environmental, housing, contract, licensing, enforcement, employment, traffic and parking and administrative law
* To advocate in appropriate hearings in civil and criminal matters
* To prepare contested civil and criminal cases for the Magistrates or County Court with counsel instructed
* To draft all necessary pleadings and other documents and draft or input into Committee Reports as required
* To undertake research to assist the other lawyers in the team to provide advice to the client
* To undertake traffic management and parking cases (including preparation of orders and advising on disputed charges)

Experience/Knowledge:
* Experience in effective handling of case load relating to prosecution or litigation advocacy work
* Experience in and a good knowledge of criminal and civil litigation
* Previous experience of non contested advocacy
* Experience in drafting agreements and dealing with complex legal matters
* Experience in the research and giving of advice
* Admitted Solicitor or Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and minimum two years PQE
