Linux Systems Administrator

Dynamic Fortune 500 Organization is seeking a top notch LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOr to install, maintain and monitor multiple Servers and the applications running on the Servers.

This includes LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM, hardware, application installation, monitoring, and backups. This position is responsible for providing 24/7 LINUX/SOLARIS and application support on a rotating basis. The applicant must have strong communication skills and a vast knowledge and experience in system troubleshooting and support.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Systems Administrator with 5+ years of experience in VMWARE VSPHERE- global virtualization and storage networking infrastructure.
- Experience in designing, deploying virtual networks and upgrading systems, including hardware, software, networks, databases, Servers and peripheral equipment.
- Extensive experience with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IP, Sub Nets, VPNs, vLAN, Network routing, Firewalls, LAN/WAN switching and Backup & Recovery, File
- Monitors and resolves any problems that may arise from the distribution or installation
- Maintains data dictionaries and ensures integration of systems through data design.
- Install, maintains, and trouble-shoot LDAP client and LDAP Server issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

- LINUX AND/OR SOLARIS SKILLS (4-6 YEARS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION).
- RHCSA/RHCE Certification Preferred
- Experience in a multi-tiered, distributed and diverse infrastructure a must
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN ENVIRONMENTS THAT ARE LARGER THAN 2000 SERVERS.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of computer hardware experience with a strong background in rack mount Servers.
- SYSTEM LEVEL PROGRAMMING IN SHELL/PERL SCRIPTING (4-6 YEARS)
- Fundamental networking skills and basic network troubleshooting skills (1-3 years).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direction, yet able to work in a team environment.
- A high level of experience in systems and network problem solving. An understanding of routed and switched networks. default routes, and IPv6 preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of OS troubleshooting, Kernel tweaking and system automation.
