Linux System Engineer (DV)

Our client is looking for an experienced DV Cleared Linux System Administrator (Red Hat) to supporting various applications that are currently operational. This is very much a hands on role and requires established experience in Network Admin and troubleshooting on a Linux box

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- You will be supporting the developers, testing and investigating issues.
- Installing new versions of software,
- deploying and implementing upgrade applications
- Migration of applications from Legacy platforms to Application Linux Cluster
- Supporting desktop changes
- Support use testing

DELIVERABLES INCLUDE:

- Production of condition lists based on Specifications, Requirements, Interface Specifications, verbal communications etc. (functional and non-functional)
- Production of Test Specifications and Test Data based on condition list (functional and non-functional, automated and manual)
- Execution of test scripts and documentation of results (functional and non-functional)
- Recording and investigation of defects through to resolution - liaising with developers, designers, architects and end-users as required.
- Contribution to/production of Test Plans detailing the overview of testing required in an area (functional or non-functional)

EXPERIENCE:

- You must hold current and valid DV Clearance
- Configuration of networking on a Linux box
- Ideally experience of using Ping, Nslookup, netstat and other troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience as a Red Hat Linux System Administrator
- Good network troubleshooting skills
- Linux Network services Administration:, SSH (SFTP), VNC, Apache Web server, SAMBA, vsftpd, DNS/BIND
- Shell Scripts: sh/csh/ksh/bash
