Linux Support (Security Cleared)

THE ROLE

Working for a collaborative team, building and deploying cloud services for the client. The team work closely with the Application Team and the external Application providers where appropriate to rapidly provision services using Automated toolsets.

The role is working in the Linux Cloud Environment providing infrastructure support and deployment/build services in both test and production environment.

Ongoing maintenance of Linux OS Servers - across a leverage team as part of a leverage group
OOH work is required to support 24x7 operations - this may include rota on call and OOH work demand for Overtime

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

- Red Hat Linux Enterprise 5 & 6, Cloud Services
- Automated Builds Processes
- Clustering technologies

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

- Cloud Services Automation
- VMWare
- HP Server Automation
- OVM (Oracle Virtual Machine)
- Proliant Hardware

The above skills are mandatory for provision of the role, they are inclusive but not limited to the above.

Flexibility is required to enable working as part of a remote and leverage team

The role reports to DWP Capability Lead with Team Lead management in place for day to day run of the business.

PREFERABLE EXPERIENCE:

- Worked in previous Linux Support role for minimum of 12 months
- RHCE Qualifications or equivalent (Not Mandatory)
- Flexible approach to work and works well as part of a team but has the ability to work unsupervised when needed
- Scripting skills
- Openshift knowledge
