Linux Software Engineer

OUR CLIENT IS A SUPER HIGH-VISIBILITY COMPUTER COMPONENTS MANUFACTURER SEEKING A SEASONED LINUX SOFTWARE DEVELOPER TO HELP IMPLEMENT A WORLD-CLASS AUTOMATED VALIDATION PLATFORM FOR MOBILE APPS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Daily work in Validation Team spans the complete software life cycle using Scrum process
- Design and develop software tools to validate applications against a set of established guidelines for a new Linux based OS
- Create and run unit tests
- Participate in code reviews
- Perform proofs of concepts and investigative software development
- Help with QA as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

- 6-8 years extensive software design and development experience in Linux (any mainstream distribution)
- 5+ years' experience in software development using Python on Linux
- 5+ years' experience in software development using C/C++ on Linux
- 5+ years combined hands-on experience in the following:
- Networking in Linux (Socket Programming, Networking Protocols, etc)
- Shell Scripting
- Inter-process communication methods
- Multithreading
- 5+ years' experience in web software development using LAMP or other web technology stack
- HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
- Some experience with system administration tools (native and 3rd party) in Linux
- Good understanding of database concepts, with the ability to write simple to moderately complex SQL queries and SPROCs
- Sound understanding of OOP Principles and some knowledge of design patterns

NICE TO HAVE

- QA and/or Test automation experience a HUGE plus
- Experience with Mobile Application Development a big plus
- Any experience with Mobile Security highly desirable
- Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM team
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (eg Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google App Engine, etc.)
