Linux Kernel Driver Developer (m/f)

For our client, a global Telecommunications company in Munich we are currently looking for an Embedded Linux Kernel Device Driver Developer to join on the basis of a long-term freelance relationship. For the role we are ideally searching for an Embedded Developer who has a sound understanding of Kernel OS and has an interest in wanting to learn Windows Kernel Driver Development over a long period of time. (m/w)

Project Start:01.07.15
Project duration:Until 31.12.15 with extentions
Location: Munich

Task description:
- Energy Management Development
- Battery Management
- Processing defect tickets generated by customer and/or internal project resources
- Developing, Validating, Debugging, Maintaining and supporting software for IOSM / energy management
- Defects related to crashes, wrong functionality or performance of battery management and sensor modules.
- Crash analysis with crash inspect and Lauterbach, collecting additional information from ticket submitter.
- Processing enhancement tickets
- Participate in design and code reviews

Technical Know-how:
- Expert knowledge of Linux Kernel Operating Systems
- Programming and driver development for embedded platforms
- Fluent in embedded C/C++
- Interest in learning the following: Miniport Driver Development, KMDF Driver Flows, WinDBG

Nice to have knowledge:
- Power and Battery Management
- Knowledge of Inter-Processor-Communication (IPC) technologies (PCIe, USB, Shared Memory)
- Knowledge of ThreadX, embedded Linux/Android
- Strong analytic skills needed for design but also for maintenance phase
- Experience with USB Drivers in Linux or Battery Management

Soft Skills:
- Good inter-personal skills
- Written and spoken English know-how is demanded, all documentation will be in English
- Proactive attitude
- Desire to work hard and improve on a daily basis
- Ability to work within large teams as well as focus on individual goals
