Linux Engineer for long term Contract for my Client Based in Mechelen

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A LINUX ENGINEER FOR LONG TERM CONTRACT FOR MY CLIENT BASED IN MECHELEN, BELGIUM.

JOB SUMMARY:

System Administrator on Linux Servers, CentOS, Solaris platform in physical and virtualized environments

Ability to build and monitor services on production Servers

Serve as the primary systems administrator for Linux Servers and services.

Monitor system performance and utilization Install, configure, and document new Servers and applications

Maintain and audit user accounts Manage fileserver utilization (shared folders, quotas, etc.)

Maintain Servers and system security according to campus standards

Track vulnerabilities and apply appropriate patches and upgrades

Generate statistics for operational review and planning

Manage backup process and perform data recoveries as needed.

Ensure systems team support requests are answered within SLAs defined

Respond rapidly to system maintenance needs, including on weekends and evenings.

Assist with managing our VMware infrastructure and NetApp SAN.

Will be responsible to Critical outage resolution and work a PoC for all Linux/Backup activities

Experience with working in ITIL Framework based Managed Service projects

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef

Familiarity with load balancing Firewalls, etc.

L3 Experience with virtualization technologies

L2 Experience in EMC, Netapp Storage technologies and should be able to perform day-to-day Storage administrator jobs

Experience in NetBackup systems and should be able to support backup infrastructure platform and monitoring

Work with the Systems Team in developing System Administration Policies and Systems Team long-range planning.

Work with the Systems Team on security audit processes for all systems.

Should have a strong communication skill and attitude as the role is customer facing

Should be able to coordinate activities with offshore (India) team
