Linux Engineer (Development/Monitoring/Support)

Location: London City

A leading financial services organisation is looking to hire an Enterprise Linux Monitoring Engineer to join their expanding Linux team in line with strong growth within the company. The team provide an end-to-end view and monitoring of systems, applications and transactions across the business.

This role will be a mixture of Development, Scripting, Systems Monitoring and Tools Administration so will be ideal for a candidate with good technical skills looking to break into finance or an existing finance candidate to work in a role with large exposure across not only technology but also the business.

Ideal Skill Set:
* Good Linux Skills - Red Hat
* Scripting/Automation Skills, ideally Python
* Systems Monitoring - SNMP-based tools, Splunk, Optier, Zenoss.
* University Degree in IT/Computing arena
* Ideally have some skill in or exposure to SQL and Java

The team are looking for someone with at least a couple of years commercial experience and will be happy to invest time and training in someone with good Linux and Scripting skills even if they do not have much exposure to Systems Monitoring at this time. The company are growing rapidly so there are strong long term progression opportunities within a market leader in the banking/financial services arena.
