Linux Engineer

For a 6 month contract (with the possibility of an extension) for one of our clients in Zurich we are looking for a Linux Engineer.

Your tasks:

- Installation, Deployment and Operation of UNIX/Linux infrastructure
- Technical Unix 2nd Level Support and integration of software components.
- Operation of test, integration and production-infrastructure for Sun Solaris and Red Head Linux (RHEL) based applications.
- Planning and execution of maintenance on UNIX/Linux systems, including deployment of new operating system releases and Layer 2 (Middleware) components.
- Support for integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production.
- In depth analysis of System configurations of infrastructure and writing of proposals for improvement

Your profile:

- Completed apprenticeship in Information Technology or adequate education
- At least 5 years of work experience in system engineering of Red Head Linux Systems
- Strong Shell Scripting skills
- Strong analytical and strategic abilities with solid implementation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with senior management
- Practical experience in Incident, Problem and Change Management, including root cause analysis
- Good knowledge of VMWare
- Fluent in ENGLISH AND GERMAN (spoken and written)
