We are looking for a Linux System Administrator in NJ, details

The System Administration team is comprised of subject matter experts organized categorically into areas of specialization. This allows each specialized team member to focus their energies on specific tasks more efficiently. Each member, however, must have sufficient knowledge in all other areas of expertise to effectively assist and support another team member when required. This team dynamic will allow each specialist to concentrate on their individual craft while having the capability to meet varying technical demands that may fluctuate during the life cycle of a project or release. There will be an expectation of some production support duties.

REQUIRED

Each member of the System Administration team must at a minimum, be able to perform the following functions.

- Must work efficiently in both an individual and group setting, understanding that they serve dual roles, both as a contributor and support.
- Superb troubleshooting, problem determination and resolution skills required.
- Proficient in UNIX as an Operating System and a Scripting language; specifically Linux and its variants.
- Fundamental UNIX System Administration; including, but not limited to installing, upgrading and managing Linux Operating Systems; namely Oracle OEL 7.1.
- Familiarity with Virtual Machine concepts and technologies, with the ability to quickly learn the fundamental skills required to setup, tear down and clone VMs under various hypervisor variants. Experience with Oracle Virtual Manager and ZFS a plus.
- Proficient in installation, management and configuration of Java Application Middleware; specifically Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Advanced Platform.
- Proficient in Apache Web Server setup, installation and administration, including advanced concepts such as web server load balancing and failover.
- Knowledge and understanding of Relational Database Management System concepts; especially in the Oracle Database product line.
- Fundamental understanding of enterprise networking concepts; including LAN Internet work switching and routing, Virtual LANs, Firewalls for both copper and fiber networks.
- Understand differing hardware specifications, technologies and their capabilities; from the micro level such as Processing Units (CPUs), Memory, Storage to the macro level such as multi-geographical computing platforms.
- Comfortable with transporting, handling, racking, stacking, wiring and powering hardware components; including rack mounted blade chassis, Servers, Switches, networked storage (SAN/NAS/DAS).

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

- Provides the computing infrastructure for the internal environments, and a subject matter expert in Data Center Engineering (may not have all, but should have some skills)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Manage SMB sized Data Center activities; including physical rack/stack/power/cable for all hardware kits and components, including Blades ( experience with HP, IBM and Oracle hardware a plus
- Managing and administer SMB sized TCP/IP Networks, including Switching and Routing between LANs/VLANs, VPNsexperience with Cisco a plus
- Competency with major hardware vendors such as HP, IBM, Oracle, Cisco are their offerings at the SMB and Enterprise level.
- Understand, support and provide feedback for Tier III/IV Data Center specifications and the impacts on the solution
