JOB DESCRIPTIONS
KEY TASKS:
Migration of approximately 30 VMWare virtual machines from a temporary VMWare cluster located at the United Nations Valencia, Spain Data Center onto newly commissioned vBlock appliances and attached storage devices for the Umoja project. The systems currently run a variety of SAP application and DB Servers (single tier DB/Application architecture).
KEY SKILLS:
- Extensive knowledge, experience and if available certification in VMWare, ideally vSphere 5.0 as a lead, in order to be able to manage migration activities based on previous experience. Close interaction with Technical PM and team, based in the US.
- Knowledge of vBlock architecture (specifically HA-AMP) would be highly beneficial or significant VMWare experience to allow easy cross training.
- Experience of working within time critical project activities-systems migrations will need to be performed as part of a 2-3 cutover events. The successful resources should have experience of cutover management, working to key deadlines and evidence of cutover rehearsal management and execution.
- Excellent knowledge of Linux RHEL in a virtualized platform - RHEL certification would be desirable.
- Networking experience, able to manage VMs within VLANS, and attached storage volumes (VNX storage solution) experience.
- Experience of working with SAP solutions. SAP Basis experience would be a plus, however, not a requirement.
