TITLE: Liferay Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

This person will work in a team environment as a senior technologist, should be a self-starter with the ability to act as technical lead and lead developer for assigned projects. The person should be able to work closely with customers (internal and external), as well as onsite and offshore team members. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and customer relationship building.

The role operates in an Agile/scrum environment and requires an excellent understanding of the full software life cycle, including functional requirement gathering, design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

- Experience as a lead developer, working with onsite and remote team members in a Matrix environment.
- Work with Onshore Team members and participate in Work Planning, Team Bandwidth and Prepare Work Breakdown Structure for offshore.
- A team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Minimum 5 years of solid Java Web Application Development experience
- Solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Previous experience supporting complex projects with complicated business drivers and multiple stakeholders
- Good writing and communication skills

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Experience in using LIFERAY framework for Java Portal & Portlets Development and Maintenance
- Experience in working on JSR 286 and JSR 168 Portlet Standards.
- Object Oriented Analysis, design and development in Java technology with experience in progressive phases like requirement analysis, detail designs, development and maintenance.
- Web Application development experience using Java J2EE using JSP, JavaScript, HTML and MVC frameworks Spring MVC, and Hibernate
- Configuration of App Server Jboss, Tomcat and Weblogic Servers
- Object Oriented Design/analysis, UML modelling, Classic design patterns, J2EE patterns.
- XML/XSLT/XPath, Web Services (REST & Soap)
- Experience in JUnit testing framework.
- Experience in open source debugging tools like soapUI, FireBug, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

MINIMUM

- Formal Education (Degree)
- Web Application Development (5 yrs+)
- Skills J2EE, Spring MVC, Hibernate, JPA, HTML, XHTML, XML

- Accreditation/certifications/licenses
- Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP)
