Level 2 NDT Operator - Double Day Shift

A new and exciting opportunity working for one of the World's leading aircraft manufacturers. Based in Chester, we have a requirement for an experienced Level 2 NDT Operator to join the team and be involved with several key projects.

Reporting directly to the NDT Group Leader, the NDT Operator is responsible for performing examination of composite and metallic components and structures with a high degree of autonomy, whilst ensuring all in-house technical requirements are maintained, ie controlling documentation, continuation training, production of technical reports and instruction formulation.

On a day to day basis the NDT Operator will:

Perform specialist NDT and Laboratory testing/assistance in support of composite and metallic manufactured product for all business areas

Provide specialist support to engineering and concession planning

Carry out performance checks on NDT instrumentation for all business areas

Provide specialist support for the formulation and development of NDT instructions

Provide specialist support and advice during investigations to determine the technical disposition of products to support network plans

Maintain the departments working procedures and instructions, ensuring compliance with all regulations

Maintain personal approvals in accordance with the application NDT certificate scheme, in line with business requirements

The ideal applicant will hold the following skills and experience:

Served a technical apprenticeship, preferably in the Aircraft manufacturing industry

Educated to HNC/HND level

Composite and metallic experience in testing and inspection methods
-

EN4179 Level 2 or equivalent qualifications in Eddy Current and Ultrasonic testing

Effective communication skills both verbal and written
-

Strong organisational skills together with a high degree of self-motivation and flexibility in order to meet tight deadlines demanded by the role

The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a small team is essential

Applicants MUST hold experience of Eddy Current and Ultrasonic testing.
