Lean Improvement Lead

As a member of the Operations Transformation team, the Lean Improvement Lead is responsible for using Lean, Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies to delivery operational improvement projects. This will include both delivering projects autonomously and leading on work streams and/or sites as part of a larger team. The Lean Improvement Lead will also play a pivotal role in building the Lean skills and capabilities of Improvement Champions across Group Operations, including developing and delivering Lean training, coaching and mentoring Operations Managers.

KNOWLEDGE:

- Qualification (or equivalent experience) in operations improvement (eg LEAN, Six Sigma)
- Qualification in project management and/or programme management (eg PRINCE2, MSP)
- Knowledge of best practice operational management techniques, including work measurement, capacity management, performance management and quality management

EXPERIENCE:

- Leadership of business improvement projects, with demonstrable impact and benefits savings in an operational environment
- Leadership of LEAN-BASED IMPROVEMENT projects across the full project life cycle (eg diagnostic, design, implementation, sustainment) either autonomously or with responsibility for a work stream and/or site implementation
- Experience in implementing process changes in a technology-enabled environment
- Experience in developing and implementing: quality management framework, work instructions, capacity planning tools, performance management tools, visual performance boards, new operational management practices
- Previous financial services and/or pensions experience is desirable but not essential
- Previous operational management and/or service delivery experience is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience in delivering technology-driven change is desirable but not essential
