Lead Systems Consultant

LEAD SYSTEMS CONSULTANT - SYSTEMS ENGINEER, COMBAT SYSTEM, TECHNICAL BIDS, NAVAL

A Lead Systems Consultant with Systems Engineer, Combat System, Technical Bids, Naval experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Surrey.

This is a 6 month contract working for a UK leading defence company.

OVERVIEW OF THE LEAD SYSTEMS CONSULTANT CONTRACT ROLE

- Lead on production of technical aspects of bids for tasks in an existing contractual framework (£10k's-£1M's).
- Lead on the technical delivery of tasks on contract.
- Report on technical progress of tasks.
- Liaise with suppliers and Systems Team Members to agree technical solutions, coherent with the Common Combat Systems Design.
- Undertake peer reviews or checking/verification tasks as directed.
- Articulate and present detailed technical argument clearly, logically and simply in technical and commercial reviews.
- Liaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE LEAD SYSTEMS CONSULTANT

- Extensive experience of complex system design and qualification.
- Knowledge of the techniques of systems engineering.
- Self-motivation, and enthusiasm for problem solving, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi task between multiple concurrent tasks and different stages of the life cycle.
- Ability to work with multi-displinary terms and provide overall direction to them.
- Experience of systems engineering in a Naval platform arena (Submarines/Surface ships).
- Knowledge of network and high performance processing systems design.

CANDIDATE MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO UNDERGO SECURITY CLEARANCE.

The role is based in Surrey - commutable from Aldershot, Farnborough, Wokingham, Bracknell, Chertsey, Weybridge, Woking, Guildford, Farnham, Winchester, Basingstoke and Reading with excellent access from Hampshire and Berkshire.
