SYSTEM ARCHITECT - SHAREPOINT - 1 YEAR CONTRACT!

On behalf of our client, a leading globally-recognized brand within the technology sector in Zurich, we are looking for a SYSTEM ARCHITECT, with PROVEN HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE. The Lead-SA needs to be familiar in working in a big, and international operating environment. He/she needs to be the expert for developing the appropriate migration tools, but also needs very good communication skills in order to facilitate the development of the required process designs.

For this 1 YEAR CONTRACTING position based in beautiful Zurich, Switzerland, our client is looking for an English speaking candidate who can start ASAP. DURATION: 60%-80% between Oct 2017 and Jan 2018. After Jan 2018 app. 40%

Total duration is a minimum of 12 months (extension is highly probable)

PROFILE

6 years Expert-level SA experience on SharePoint migration projects, including hands on experiences.

WHAT ARE THE DELIVERABLES:

- Assessment report, migration and process design, developed communication platform
- Configured and customer accepted jobs Metalogix Content Matric
- Developed processes and migration tools, developed redirection tool
- Customer acceptance of the migration pilot

WHAT WILL YOU HAVE TO DO?

Customer will migrate on-premises SharePoint 2007 to on-premises SharePoint 2016 using Metalogix Content Matrix. The currently known scope is app. 13'000 non-customized SiteCollections. The Lead-SA will drive and develop tools for the assessment, and the migration design. Starting 2018 the client based migration factory will take over the developed tools and perform the migration; then the Lead-SA's role will transition into a quality assurance role. It is key to understand that there is a strict segregation of duties: The engineering team need to develop tools and processes that are to be handed over to an operational team that executes them. Please note, these services consist of migration services only. The customer provides the SharePoint 2016 environment himself.

SOLUTION AREAS:

- SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2016 migration (on premise, not SharePoint Online)
- Metalogix Content Matrix (customer selected migration tool)
- PowerShell to trigger Metalogix migration jobs
- Migration Process Design

WHAT ABOUT MY FUTURE TASKS?

- Assess the SharePoint 2007 environment and verify/confirm the homogeneous and non customized SharePoint 2007 environment (non-customized 13'000 SiteCollections)
- Design the migration approach to SharePoint 2016 taking into account the segregation of duties between engineering and operations
- Develop a remediation plan for a small percentage of non-standard SharePoint 2007 SiteCollections
- Design a migration planning and communication platform as a basis for the 6 months factory migration
- Drive the Pilot and handover the developed tools to operations
- Lead/support a TC that is responsible for developing appropriate PowerShell scripts to trigger Metalogix jobs
- Lead/support a TC that is responsible for developing a redirection tool
- Coordinate/fine-tune migration processes between the customers Engineering and Operational team
