Lead Mechanical Engineer - Drilling Contractor

Progressive Global Energy is currently sourcing a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a leading drilling contractor based in Aberdeen. The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the Technical Integrity of Engineering Project Deliverables. The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overall direct resource management and competence of the discipline in respect of project work. The Lead Discipline Engineer will report to the Project Manager/Project Engineer Main Responsibilities * Responsible for ensuring that project deliverables are executed in accordance with the agreed processes, procedures and standards. * Accountable for ensuring the timely input of discipline and technical integrity input into the contract. * Accountable for defining and the timely delivery of resources that meets the agreed needs of the Project Management. * Responsible and accountable for ensuring those relevant discipline personnel are demonstrably competent. * Responsible for definition of discipline work scope in supporting the definition of the project work scope. * Responsible for supporting the successful handover and closeout of the project to client/operations as appropriate. * Responsible for the implementation of relevant actions to mitigate risk. * Responsible for ensuring and reporting the timely reconciliation of agreed costs/hours to the project engineer/project manager. * Responsible for layout requirements. Successful candidates will have * Experience in a project/engineering role and with an understanding of drilling operations - minimum 5 years * Leadership experience in a technical environment * Experience with offshore modification projects * Experienced in engineering standards, rules and regulations for offshore drilling facilities * Should be fully conversant with applicable UKCS engineering legislation on an ongoing basis To be considered for this role apply now using link below.
