Lead Java Developer/Java Tech Lead - 6 Month Contract

THE COMPANY

A well known and growing IT Company based in Sydney are looking to add a Java Lead Developer/Technical Leadto their dynamic and growing project team. They offer the opportunity for career growth, work-life balance, and autonomy within the development function.

THE ROLE

As a Java Tech Lead/Lead Java Developer within this mid-sized team, you will be an instrumental part of this small project team. The project is now moving into it's next phase, and requires a number of enhancements and change requests to be actioned. These include work to be performed on Java based internal systems, and internal data sources. You will be working on an SOA Back End, which is built on JBoss ESB and is orchastrated through jBPM.

In addition to hands on development, you will also be responsible for the documentation of requirements, and translation of these requirements into technical design. You will also be responsible for mentoring and leading a team of Senior and Mid Level Java Developers and will have the opportunity to act in a knowledge-sharing capacity.

This is initially a 6 month contract, with a view to extend

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

As an experienced and passionate Java Tech Lead/Lead Developer, you will have:

- 8+ years of commercial experience within JAVA/J2EE Development
- Strong experience with Spring (Core), Hibernate/JPA, RESTful WebServices
- Unit Testing experience through JUnit
- Strong experience within SOA, preferably hands on with ESB technologies (JBOSS ESB, JBPM ESSENTIAL)
- Proven involvement in the implementation of a SOA/ESB environment (preferably JBoss Suite)
- Very strong analytical and design skills (GOF AND ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION PATTERNS)
- Commercial Agile experience
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work within a small team environment

It would also be advantageous, but not essential, if you have commercial experience within:

- JBoss SEAM, Spring-WS, Spring Integration, Spring MVC, Maven, Unix Scripting, JSP, Struts, JSON, Camel, Mule, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), other ESB
