Lead Java Developer - Contract

LEAD DEVELOPER - 6 MONTH CONTRACT

My City Centre client is urgently looking for a lead developer - with the following skill set:

- Lead all phases of development from definition and design through implementation, debugging, testing and rollout
- Provide technical leadership to an external software development team and take ownership for component design, development and maintenance
- Day to day management of external developers on a range of projects
- Analyse and estimate change requests as well as new development
- Responsible for code reviews and technical quality standards from their external team
- Weekly Reporting to Team Lead Engineer
- Assist in defining structured practices especially in source code management, build & deployment automation and release management
- Management of communication between project managers, internal stakeholders and external development teams

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- 7 years enterprise Java J2EE development experience
- Requires a very strong level of interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Experience of technical leadership of software developers
- Experience of the Hibernate, JUnit, EJB3 and Spring Frameworks
- Experience Front End technologies like Flex & Adobe Flash
- Experience of relational databases, preferably Oracle, etc
- Experience of Apache 2, JBoss, OpenDS (LDAP), & other App Servers
- Experience of UNIX, preferably Solaris, Linux is a plus
