Lead Developer / Architect - Contract 18 month programme

This Development Lead role is responsible for designing, monitoring and delivering the required development activities to integrate in-house and 3rd party platforms. As part of a larger change programme this will include any back-end or portal changes (including 3rd party clients) to enable seamless end-to-end processing.

As Lead you will shape and manage a Technology Solution Delivery team, consisting of internal and 3rd party resources, to deliver against change and business requirements. This will include defining development methodology and the use of common tools. You will need to collaborate with Project Managers and Development Leads across multiple product ranges to establish an achievable roadmap and agree development standards. Including working with Corporate IS and 3rd party IS service providers to ensure that infrastructure build and service provision are aligned with business and technical requirements.

This role will require an established senior development lead with experience in managing multiple software development projects for B2C solutions. You will need to demonstrate:

* Proven track record of leading agile projects and strategic corporate development programmes from requirements and conceptual design to implementation phase.
* Experience in managing a virtual and globally distributed team, including off-shore and 3rd party resources
* Ability to solve complex projects and to work effectively without direct guidance to solutions
* Strong analytical skills and comfort dealing with large data sets
* Working knowledge of industry-standard software development methodology

Experience in introduction and use of development management tools, such as Jira

* Strong working knowledge of UML sequence modelling for solution design
* Good working knowledge of Big Data' solutions
* Experience in .Net and Java (ideally both) with common interface design in XML formatting
* Thorough understanding of application lifecycle development and process
* Exposure to data quality concepts, best practices, and tools/technologies
