Lead Data Architect, Information and Communications Technology Unit

The European Medicines Agency (EMA), London, is looking to recruit a Lead Data Architect who is responsible for the overall end to end architecture and design of data stores and their interrelations in accordance with the chosen Enterprise architecture. This is to facilitate data access and analysis to support different internal as well as external business.

Responsibilities include:

- leading, developing and defining the EMA IT data strategy (ie how the Agency manages data, turns the strategic value of data into public health positive outcomes.);
- Designing the data architecture in accordance with the chosen Enterprise architecture;
- defining data architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organisation;
- translating the Agency's strategic requirements into a usable enterprise information architecture;
- developing a metadata management and repository strategy to manage all enterprise information architecture project artefacts;
- ensuring that existing data assets are identified, mapped and aligned to the Agency's strategy on data architecture;
- working with Business, Development and Infrastructure team of architects to achieve coherent data architecture models both on enterprise as well as on project levels;
- leading and coaching cross-Agency project teams and data designers;
- setting up the necessary data governance;
- participating in the overall IT governance structures.

You need to have a university degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or business administration, a minimum of nine years' professional experience and a good command of English and a thorough knowledge of another official language of the European Union.
