Lawyer

This person will be expected to provide assistance to lawyers, regional and department management and other clients involved in real estate matters with an emphasis on managing and resolving legal issues affecting existing locations ranging from routine to complex in a fast-paced environment.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE, AMONG OTHER THINGS: reviewing and clearing title and survey; reviewing and analysing contracts, leases and other legal documents; preparing ancillary transaction documents such as escrow instructions, deeds, easements, memorandum of leases, restrictive covenants and non-disturbance agreements; handling property management matters including landlord-tenant disputes, common area maintenance reconciliations, notices of violation, and change of payee requests; handling eminent domain matters affecting our sites; coordinating construction-related property management issues related to the operation of existing location; performing legal clearance reviews to facilitate the remodeling of existing locations.

SKILLS:

A J.D. degree and a license to practice law are required. A minimum of one to three years of technical experience in the commercial real estate area is preferred. Other desired skills/qualities include: excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, ability to handle multiple projects, ability to handle deadline pressures and sensitive information, ability to work well individually and also as part of a team.
