Labview Software Engineer

Our client is a high technology designer and manufacturer who require a Software Engineer with Labview Development experience to support the development and production of its expanding line of therapeutic devices. It requires someone with a strong background in product development, Labview programming and (automated) testing.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, qualify, implement and release designs for a medical therapy system using LabVIEW
* Support R&D, Production, and Field Service of medical products in the form of automated tests and control systems using LabVIEW
* Participate in design review and hazard/risk analysis meetings
* Create test procedures for medical products
* Work with other engineers (of varied disciplines) as well as executives and manufacturing personnel to sustain existing products and deliver new products to market
* Apply software principles and concepts to evaluate new designs for function and performance
* System integration of new components and designs
* Prepare technical reports and presentations
* Initiate, execute & review product changes via the company's ECO process
* Provide continuous support for manufacturing and resolve complex manufacturing issues
* Develop test methods, system test procedures and create test and qualification reports for new product introduction

Skills/Experience Required:
* Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Knowledge of the entire life cycle of medical device development
* Experience with requirements management, requirements verification, validation, LabVIEW programming and software best practices,
* Strong skills with LabVIEW programming for Embedded systems, LabVIEW applications, and higher level applications on Windows operating systems
* Must be able to test, evaluate, document, qualify and release designs for complex projects
* Experience using structured, specification driven, requirements-based approach to software design and development, preferably with NI requirements gateway
* Familiarity with verification and validation phases for medical device software
* Experience developing test system software, preferably with NI TestStand
* 5 years experience developing automated test, measurement, data acquisition, and control systems using LabVIEW
* Experience developing OEM products a plus
* 5 years of experience working with product development and transferring new products into production
* Experience in the test and integration of medical products is strongly preferred
* Familiarity with Electrical Safety, EMC/EMI Qualification Testing & Design Requirements for Medical Equipment is a bonus
* Experience with National Instruments hardware
