Laboratory Technician

SUMMARY:

- The selected candidate will become part of an established, global interdisciplinary research team focused on the development and registration of new plant protection products as well as supporting life cycle management of our portfolios.
- The selected candidate will support these activities by assisting with sample throughput in the LC-MS/MS instrument lab.
- Daily activities include sample loading, instrument preparation, data processing and communication, and basic instrument maintenance.

SKILLS:

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or environmental sciences
- Experience desired: 1-3 years of experience in related discipline

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Wet chemistry techniques for extraction, clean-up, and purification of samples for analysis, especially plant, animal, and environmental samples.
- Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative residue analysis
- Experience with GC, LC, MS and MS/MS analysis techniques, including data processing
- Solid written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Experience in quantitative residue analysis, preferably related to agricultural chemicals.
- Experience in interpreting data for method development
- Experience in troubleshooting analytical instrumentation
- Experience with ABSciex Mass Spectrometers and Waters Acquity UPLC Chromatographic systems
- Experience with Good Laboratory Practices
