Laboratory Technician

Perform a variety of laboratory tasks including:

- Set up, calibrate, and operate accelerated test equipment/machines and record test data in a computer database.
- Conduct laboratory performance tests on coatings per customer specifications.
- Collect data on coatings using analytical instruments.
- Use of a respirator is required in this position.
- This position is First Shift

SKILLS:

REQUIREMENTS:

- Associates degree in a science discipline, electrical or mechanical technician/engineering and/or applicable work experience.
- Candidate should have good mechanical skills and machine experience, as they will be responsible for calibrating and maintaining accelerated testing equipment in operating condition.
- Must be able to accurately weigh/measure quantities and use basic math to prepare solutions.
- Excellent mathematical/laboratory practices requiring precise calculations with little margin for error.
- Lab experience preferred, working with weatherometer lab testing equipment is a plus
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or with limited supervision.
- Must be Computer literate and able to use MS Word and Excel for project management.
- Organized, detail oriented, neat record keeping, ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Able to lift 30 - 40 lbs.
- Experience with machine set-up/calibration in a testing facility, preferably in the paint/coatings field
- Experience in a Coatings QC/QA lab
- Experience coating material specifications is a plus
