Lab Technicians Job

LAB/TEST TECHNICIANS needed for CONTRACT opportunities with Yoh's client located in PLAINVILLE, CT.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS

- Technical aptitude relating to electrical and mechanical testing
- The ability to calculate/interpret/record testing data

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Perform advanced technical functions relevant to the preparation and testing as specified by global test requests
- Prepare test equipment in materials and environmental test labs for carrying out specific materials related testing with authority including but not limited to mechanical testing (tensile, impact, hardness etc.), metallographic sample preparation, understanding of Microstructure, Plating Thickness, etc
- Perform routine environmental tests including but not limited to Material Aging, Salt Fog, UV, Humidity, etc
- Use of SEM/EDS and other light microscopes for performing material analysis.
- Perform routine maintenance of lab equipment and assist with any new lab equipment installation.
- Perform calculations/recording and tabulations of technical data and record them accordingly
- Maintain applicable records: Review, troubleshoot and update Test Requests; input qualification records; and write laboratory reports as required.
- Maintain confidentiality in handling proprietary test data, formulations and data on patentable or other confidential items under development
- Follow 5S and meet other EHS requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Must have basic knowledge in the operation of materials and environmental test equipment.
- Strong knowledge of materials/mechanical principals;
- Associate Degree in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering and at least three (3) years of related experience.
