Lab Technician/Associate Scientist Job

LAB TECHNICIAN/ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST needed for a CONTRACT position with Yoh's client located in GAITHERSBURG, MD.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Mass Spectrometry
- Characterize new and existing molecules

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Position available in the Electrophoresis/Mass Spectrometry group in the Analytical Biochemistry Department in Gaithersburg, MD.
- Develop novel separation and identification assays utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to apply to monoclonal antibody and other novel protein characterizations.
- General focus will be on developing platform technology using different separation techniques and coupling with Mass Spectrometry to help characterize new and existing molecules.
- Work with existing members of analytical biochemistry in the research and development fields, develop and apply methods, troubleshoot instrumentation, mentor junior members of the team and contribute to various project teams.
- Review documents, serve on analytical teams and supervise personnel in the group.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS/MS in Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline. PhD is preferred with Mass spec lab experience
- Experience in developing and characterizing molecules using different separation techniques and mass spectrometry is needed.
- Experience with Bioanalyzer and iCE280 is a plus but not required. Experience in Mass Spectrometry and reverse phase chromatography is needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills, are essential. Excellent teamwork and communication skills including good documentation and writing skills are vital. Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills are essential.
- Should demonstrate problem solving skills in problem identification, isolation and resolution through the use of analysis, troubleshooting and other like techniques.
