Lab Technician

Our client is the world's leading computer components company seeking a LAB TECHNICIAN to manage a variety of Servers with a broad range of technology.

Responsibilities will include Server Landing, working with vendors, racking, base install of Linux Cent OS and some Windows Server 8, labeling Servers, watching monitor boards for alerts, server administration, troubleshooting. Hardware is under warranty and the techs will need vender escort privileges.

Work will also include rapid deployment of Linux systems with a Linux tool called Cobbler; which requires familiarity with BIOS settings; some knowledge of DNS management (Mice n Men); familiarity with DHCP; basic networking; and Kickstart knowhow.

Lastly you will be providing virtual machine configuration/management with a tool called Virtual Machine Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 2+ years related work experience
- Solid skills with the configuration/administration of systems
- Superior troubleshooting skills (both hardware and software)
- Basic familiarity with Linux
- Will provide customer support
- Ability to execute project plans within deadlines
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Excellent customer service and prioritization skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
