Lab Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Uses technical knowledge and understanding to run routine and some non-routine samples with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for the accuracy and compliance of the results generated.
- Recognizes abnormal results, takes corrective analytical/technical action, and prepares findings for review by supervision.
- Performs routine tests and experiments following standard procedures and some non-routine samples with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for the accuracy and compliance of results generated.
- Ensured that data maintenance and record keeping are in accord with GMP and SOPs.
- Recognizes, investigates and takes appropriate actions to correct deviations.
- Reports deviations and corrective actions to appropriate personnel.
- Prepares protocols for common experiments and studies, working with other departments to assure a complete study.
- Understands how data and studies support compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, balances, spectrophotometers, chromatographs and other laboratory equipment.
- Maintains above equipment and troubleshoots to identify problems.
- Performs routine calibrations and preventive maintenance.
- Maintains Standard Operating Procedures dealing with their work area and recommends new methods and procedures.
- Records test results on standardized forms and prepares reports describing procedures used.
- Prepares charts and graphs to assist in evaluation and interpretation of data.

SKILLS

MS Word, MS Excel desired.
