LAB TECH LEAD - DV CLEARANCE

Our client has a requirement for a LAB TECH LEAD to for a 6 MONTH MINIMUM CONTRACT based in LONDON. The client is offering up to £410 per day with negotiability for outstanding applicants.

For this role you will be required to hold an DV CLEARANCE Please families yourself with the DV clearance before you apply for this role.

OVERVIEW:

Working in a new function within the organisation, looking at emerging technologies and evaluating (through experimentation and other means) their relevance in providing a response to some of the big business challenges the organisation will face as it moves towards 2020.

The role suits someone with a passion for technology, who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. At attitude based on working with the unknown and getting it configured and working is essential.

Additionally, they need good organisational skills, as there will be others who will use the lab as a vehicle for experiments which will need some management of the process placed around them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

- Organising and managing lab activities including the prioritisation processes, lab infrastructure, organisation of experiments and basic lab budgets management
- Main point of contact for the Lab
- Basic reporting of progress and plans for the Lab

SKILLS REQUIRED ARE:

- Good facilitation and communication skills
- Good planning and tracking/monitoring skills
- Wide range of technical skills, with the ability to pick up new skills through practical hands-on activities, but specifically of the type:
- Highly technically-literate, comfortable working within Linux and Windows environments, across a range of platforms (JEE, .Net, COTS, appliance)
- Some experience with recent NoSQL architectures (eg Hadoop, Hbase, Cassandra, Neo4J, Mongo)
- Some experience with visualisation toolkits (eg d3.js, Tableau)
- Experience of working to agile/rapid development briefs, for example, in conducting Proof of Concepts or in a lean startup/innovation- driven environment
- A strong understanding of the key technology trends and drivers affecting the wider IT industry
