LAB ENGINEER REDMOND, WA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

The successful candidate for this position will be actively monitoring Servers and services that support multiple projects and technologies. Candidate will ensure lab resources maintain the highest amount of availability by proactively monitoring, tracking, and correcting hardware issues in a timely manner. Be responsible for ensuring server or projects meet detailed specification prior to release. Manage and maintaining support documentation for areas of responsibility.

This position works an 8 hour shift in an office environment during service support hours of 8AM 8PM. Candidate could be asked to work off hours and weekends to support critical services or complete necessary projects and tasks. CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO PHYSICALLY LIFT AND MOVE ITEMS UP TO 40 POUNDS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: TIER 2 SUPPORT

- Communicate by email with other Operations Engineers
- Maintain lab infrastructure (Server, Workstation, DAS, Raritan, etc.)
- Rack, stack, and cleanly cable lab infrastructure
- Work with fellow operations teams to coordinate deployment and outages
- Investigate failed infrastructure, systems, and services
- Maintain and monitor system inventory for accuracy
- Actively monitor, create, prioritize, and drive tickets to resolution
- Maintain, set up, and configure hardware to specification

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

- WORKING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH OEM (DELL/HP) SERVER AND WORKSTATIONS
- WORKING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH WINDOWS 2008/2012 OPERATING SYSTEMS
- Ability to manage several critical issues at the same time
- SOLID troubleshooting skills and the ability to troubleshoot software, hardware and networking issues
- Clear written communication skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Experienced and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experienced and comfortable working in high paced environment

HIGHLY DESIRABLE JOB SKILLS:

- Prior experience with building or testing Windows Phone Operating systems
- Working knowledge and experience writing and editing scripts. (Batch, PowerShell)
- Working knowledge and experience using OS imaging solutions (Create, Deploy)
