LAB Engineer

Our client is the leading computer software corporation seeking a Lab Engineer to support the physical environment used by the developer division of a popular, very high-visibility product.

4 OPENINGS: 2 positions are day shift, Mon-Fri, 8 hrs/day, with some flexibility (office hours are 7am-7pm). 1 position is 7am-4pm Mon-Fri, and 1 position is 3pm-12am Sun-Thurs. MUST HAVE skills: good communication skills, ability to ask questions, good research skills, creative problem-solver.

OVERVIEW

- Responsible for maintaining a set of machines in a laboratory setting including setup, teardown, and troubleshooting of client and/or server machines.
- Other responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software problems, providing status reports on test scenarios, lab machines and configurations.
- Moving and lifting of hardware maybe required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of personal computers and/or Servers, applications software, and/or operating systems required
- Experience setting up computer hardware, installing/upgrading software and operating systems including racking and cabling of Servers required
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills required
- Experience setting up and administering NT domains required
- Some testing experience, batch file or other Scripting knowledge recommended
- Strong communication skills and personal reliability
- Keen eye for detail
- Bachelor's degree, technical training certification, Associate's degree or equivalent work experience/training desirable
- Ability to lift 50 pounds

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration with possibility of extension.
