JUNIPER PS RESIDENT ENGINEER, JNCIE-SP

I am currently looking for a Juniper PS resident engineer to work on a 3 month extendable contract for a leading service provider client of mine in Johannesburg, South Africa.

All applicants must hold either of the following Juniper certifications - JNCIE-SP 

10+ YEAR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

DUTIES

1) Understanding of the concepts and guidelines behind traditional routing or security system design (depending on requirements). Will be asked to provide internal and external guidance on key customer security issues.

2) Detailed understanding of Routing protocols surrounding IP Service Provider and/or Enterprise networks including: TCP/IP fundamentals, IP sub-netting and super-netting and hierarchical routing principles, Routing protocol operation (OSPF, BGP-4), general understanding of MPLS VPNs and the associated tunneling technologies (GRE, IPsec, etc.), network/Router security and common/best practices.

3) Strong understanding of: DNS, NFS, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP, and ARP.

4) Basic understanding of Layer 2 protocols and technologies including: Frame Relay, Ethernet, DS0, DS1, and DS3 - 3, PPP, PPPoE, and DSL, Products to support: MX Switches
