THE ROLE:

The Tier 3 Juniper Network and Implementation Engineer will resolve customer problems which occur on the MarketPrizm network and will implement network change activity. This includes end-to-end ownership, co-ordination and management of tasks assigned to other teams and network partners. The Juniper Network Engineer will undertake 3rd line support in this role specifically for Financial Services and Trading Customers (focusing on the trading hours, Asia working hours and Capital Markets).

CORE TASKS:

- Tier 3 support for MarketPrizm's global layer 3 network infrastructure
- Identify, plan and implement solutions for re-occurring problems on Juniper networks
- Implement all network change activity, including backbone upgrades and configuration of customer orders
- Utilise working knowledge of network structure and application and customer connectivity solutions
- Provide a professional interface to customers, act as a Single Point of Contact for all their issues
- Build and maintain working relationships with key InterconnecT partners and vendors
- Manage and coordinate tasks assigned to other teams, such as Field Maintenance or Technical Assistance Centre
- Maintain a clear and accurate record of events throughout a fault duration utilising the Fault Management System and provide regular updates
- Resolve or escalate faults as appropriate, according to product SLAs
- Technical report generation for customer RFO/RCA requests
- Technically manage software upgrades in co-ordination with vendor and MarketPrizm teams involved

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- Proven experience of configuration and troubleshooting Multicast (MPLS Multicast VPN) is essential for this role
- Direct experience on MVPN or Next Generation MVPN (NG-MVPN) is required, and a distinct advantage, although draft Rosen experience is useful
- Previous experience of supporting Juniper or Cisco core network Switches and Routers is essential
- Familiarity with MX series Juniper Routers or Cisco equivalent
- Good knowledge of MPLS layer 3 VPN concepts
- Good general knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, BGP and EIGRP
- Background in financial services, investment banking, broadcast or from a service provider supporting financial customers is key for this role
- Excellent Customer Facing Skills, dealing with specialist requests regarding Overall Solutions and not limited to a single Technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

- JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCSP or Cisco equivalent professional certification is preferred, but not essential
