Junior Systems Administrator - Secret Clearance Job

JUNIOR LEVEL SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Patuxent River, MD.

POSSESSION OF A SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE
- MUST HAVE A CURRENT SEC+ CERTIFICATE
- Working knowledge of Server, Storage Area Network and Network Appliance Hardware repair and maintenance
- Four to six (4-6) years of experience - THIS IS A JUNIOR LEVEL POSITION

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for the oversight of the Server Farm (SF) site infrastructure and facility equipment operation, preventive and corrective maintenance to include being on-call 24x7 to provide critical site support for quick restoration of services during outages.
- Project implementations such as technology refresh and solution upgrades require site support. If required, occasional travel may be expected to execute similar activities at nearby server farms within the geographic region.
- Depended on to enforce and maintain enterprise SF infrastructure design, quality, performance standards and integrity checks to include managing facility physical security.
- SF physical changes must follow and adhere to configuration and enterprise asset management policies.
- Upkeep of the SF in order to comply with Business Continuity Plan requirements.
- Incident Management - Identify performance issues proactively. Solve technical problems on assigned hardware and software platform(s)/application(s) following standard protocols. Works within strict time scales and elevates incidents within defined time windows.
- Problem Management- Uses proactive monitoring procedures/tools to identify problem prevention opportunities
- Change Management - Configure system hardware, software and network components to meet established standards with assistance. Perform routine installations and/or configurations. Assemble and integrate system/product
- Operations Maintenance - Perform routine maintenance. May include performing tape/backup operations
- Complaint Handling- Responds to customer relations problems promptly and appropriately. Takes ownership to ensure satisfactory completion of complaint, through engagement of appropriate resources.
- Customer Relationship - Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met. Work effectively in a multicultural environment. Respond to service, product, technical, and customer relations questions

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Demonstrate understanding of high availability environment, its operations, maintenance and technical support (preferred)
- Relevant knowledge on Active Directory, Windows Server technical practices in relevant areas, plus application of basic theory.
- Working knowledge of Server, Storage Area Network and Network Appliance Hardware repair and maintenance
- Able to apply relevant knowledge on Server Troubleshooting, Problem Analysis and Diagnosis
- Work experience with Win2Kx installation/removal and related software and components
- Able to apply tasks project management, scheduling and controlling.
- Able to demonstrate good oral, written, and telephone communication skills
- Able to communicate technical information to peers, leaders
- Experience and knowledge with Remedy and Service Manager 7 knowledge
- Able to regularly perform physical tasks and lift 50 lbs
- Ability to resolve or assist in the resolution of complex Customer problems.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and support partners.
- Able to understand Customer system environments with associated business needs.
