Junior Security Engineer
Skills:
Minimum 2 years experience with:
- basic Network knowledge (Firewalls/switches/vpn/proxies)
- basic OS knowledge (Windows 7/linux)
- Problem solving skills
Scope:
- Maintain the anti-virus back-end infrastructure ensuring the server and clients remain up to date/communicating
- Analyse spam that was submitted to and update the MTA's policy if required
- Ensure helpdesk cases which were escalated to Security Operations are resolved in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure the backups of Security Operations' systems are done daily
- Create & update knowledge base articles in the Security Operations SharePoint workspace - Check monitoring events, investigate and resolve when required
- Implement rule-base updates on Proxies & Firewalls
- Ensure network events are investigated and acted upon if required
- Investigate virus alerts and take appropriate action if required
- Perform maintenance tasks on the Security Operations mobile device management solution
- Stay up-to-date with industry news (RSS feeds)
- Review and act upon the results of vulnerability scans
- Collect and update the scorecard figures
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly tasks are performed
- Patching of windows systems
