Playing a key role in the delivery of an innovative web project, you'll enjoy an excellent opportunity to enhance your career. You'll be part of a significant EC-funded initiative which will transform approaches to protecting Scotland's environment.
Your role
The SEWeb (LIFE) project is a groundbreaking partnership between SEPA and other organisations involved in safeguarding Scotland's environment. With funding from the European Commission's LIFE + Programme, this new website will revolutionise the accessibility and usability of crucial environmental information, drawn from an extensive network of data providers and users.
The scope of the project spans everything from web development and data analysis to partnerships and public engagement. You'll work alongside a senior project manager and senior technical coordinator, plus a number of business analysts and workstream leads. The project will also involve over 50 other staff on specific assignments. Providing a combination of support, coordination and administration for the senior project manager, you'll also personally manage small areas of activity. We'll expect you to develop plans, monitor progress and produce reports.
Your background
You'll demonstrate a range of skills and experience:
- PRINCE2 qualification (Foundation or above)
- Specialist skills in Microsoft Project
- Significant experience within project teams
- Team leadership/issue management in a Matrix environment
- Knowledge - and ideally some experience - of project controls and budget management
- The ability to understand and interpret technical concepts
- Excellent communication, influencing and motivational skills
