Junior Data Analysis Expert (Scientific & Manufacturing)

Our client, a major pharmaceutical company based in the Basel area, is looking for a talented JUNIOR DATA ANALYSIS EXPERT (SCIENTIFIC & MANUFACTURING). This is a contract role until the end of 2018.

Background:

We are looking for a number of roles to support a Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) Digital Biomarker program.

This program's objective is to develop digital biomarkers and the focus areas are:

- Design digital biomarkers: Define ways to capture clinical outcomes using sensor data collected from smartphones and wearables
- Develop apps and data processing pipeline: Establish processes, software, and infrastructure to handle big data collected from sensors in clinical trials
- Deploy digital biomarkers to clinical studies: Generate data to validate approaches and support decision making
- Analyse and interpret sensor data: Identify signals for disease severity and progression in sensor data collected from patients in trials

Tasks & Responsibilites:

- The successful candidate will be analysing large amounts sensor data collected from smartphones and other wearables in clinical trials to discover digital biomarkers required to assess drug efficacy

Must Haves:

- Very good university degree in mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics
- 3+ years of experience with analysing big data sets, data visualization (former engineering experience as well as technical know-how shown in the last projects)
- Experience with software development and big data infrastructures
- Experience with analysing biomechanical and sensor data desirable
- Profound knowledge in Python, R, Matlab or similar software packages/languages
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Self-starting team player
- Fluent in English

Nice to Haves:

- +++ German speaking
- +++ Working experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with clinical studies
